Standard DTF prints flat. These do not. Raised puff, glow in the dark, soft silicone, heavy fashion-weight and metallic gold - the finishes people notice and ask about.
Minimum 10 pieces on any specialty finish. Most orders still ready within 72 hours. Pricing is quoted per job, so call 647-739-9487 or email meet@printinguncle.com with your garment, artwork and quantity.
3D Puff
The print rises off the fabric. Under heat the ink expands, so bold lettering and thick shapes stand up in relief - you can feel it with a fingertip. This is the finish on most streetwear hoodies that look expensive.
- Best for: chunky text, thick logos, single-word designs, streetwear merch
- Works well on: hoodies, crewnecks, heavyweight tees, caps
- Not for: thin lines, small text or fine detail - they collapse as the ink rises. If your logo has hairlines in it, we will tell you before we print, not after.
Glow in the Dark
Charges under light and glows once the lights drop. It reads as an ordinary print during the day, which is the point - the design changes when the room does.
- Best for: night events, festivals, bars and clubs, Halloween, run clubs, safety-adjacent gear
- Works best on: black and dark garments - the glow is barely visible against white
- Worth knowing: the glow fades over the evening and recharges under light. It is an effect, not a light source.
Silicone
A soft, slightly rubbery finish that sits on the fabric with a matte, premium hand. Stretches with the garment rather than cracking, which is why it suits performance and athletic wear.
- Best for: activewear, performance tees, tags and small chest marks, brands that want a retail finish
- Works well on: polyester and performance blends as well as cotton
- Worth knowing: the softest hand of any finish here, and the most durable through repeated washing and stretching
Thick Fashion
A heavier, denser print than standard DTF. Not raised like puff, but with real weight and opacity - colours sit solid on the garment instead of sinking into it.
- Best for: merch you are selling rather than handing out, creator drops, band and label apparel
- Works well on: garment-dyed and heavyweight tees, sponge fleece hoodies
- Worth knowing: the usual upgrade when a standard print looks thin against a premium blank
Gold DTF
Metallic gold that catches light and shifts as the garment moves. A flat print cannot do this - the effect only exists because the surface is reflective.
- Best for: anniversaries, awards, launches, weddings, milestone events, luxury-leaning merch
- Works well on: black, navy and deep-coloured garments where the contrast is strongest
- Worth knowing: best on bold shapes and lettering. Fine detail loses the metallic effect because there is not enough surface to catch the light.
Why these are quoted rather than priced online
Two reasons, both honest.
The artwork decides whether it will work. Puff needs weight in the design. Glow needs a dark garment. Gold needs bold shapes. We would rather look at your file and tell you which finish suits it - or tell you that standard DTF is the better call - than take an order that comes out disappointing.
The cost moves with the job. Print size, garment, quantity and finish all change the number. A small silicone chest mark on 50 tees and a full-front puff on 12 hoodies are not the same job.
Send us the artwork, the garment and the quantity, and you will have a number quickly.
Not sure which finish?
Describe the effect you are after and we will tell you which one gets there. The usual conversations:
- "I want it to look expensive" - thick fashion or silicone, depending on the garment
- "I want people to notice it" - puff on bold lettering
- "It is for a night event" - glow, on black
- "It is a milestone or a gift" - gold on a dark garment
- "It has to survive the gym" - silicone
